The Community Resource Specialist (CRS) provides information,
assistance, and referrals to older adults, individuals with
disabilities, and their caregivers to support independent living
within their home communities. This position assists consumers in
understanding, applying for, and maintaining access to community,
state, and federal benefit programs that improve quality of life
and reduce financial strain. The CRS serves as a key point of
contact for resource navigation, benefits counseling, assessments,
and interagency coordination. The role collaborates with agency
staff, volunteers, and community partners to address consumer
needs, expand awareness of available services, and ensure accurate
documentation and reporting across multiple funding streams.
Qualifications Education & Experience Associate degree with a
minimum of three (3) years of experience in social services and/or
case management required; or Bachelors degree in human services,
psychology, social work, or a related field preferred. Key Skills &
Abilities Strong advocacy skills and the ability to work
effectively with clients, caregivers, and professionals across
multiple agencies and disciplines. Excellent interpersonal,
written, and verbal communication skills, including the ability to
present information clearly to individuals and groups. Proficiency
in Microsoft Office / Office 365 applications. Experience learning
and using client data systems preferred. Flexibility and
adaptability in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities
and assignments. Strong attention to safety practices, particularly
when conducting home visits. Must have reliable transportation and
