Job Description Job Description Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Certification and minimum 2 years Surgical Tech / Operating Room Tech experience required. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced perioperative nurse specializing in orthopedic and surgical support in a busy operating room environment. The role is based in Morris, IL, and requires expertise in neuro anesthesia as well as certification through NBSTSA. This is a full-time, 8-week contract assignment with a consistent Monday through Friday schedule that supports 40 hours per week. Key Responsibilities: Provide high-quality anesthesia care for a wide range of surgical procedures including orthopedic total joints (knees, hips, shoulders), shoulder and knee arthroscopy, ankle fractures, and ORIF hip fractures utilizing advanced technology such as the Mako robotic system. Support ortho-spine surgeries including cervical and lumbar fusion, laminectomy, discectomy, and kyphoplasty. Assist in ENT surgeries including tonsillectomy, adenoidectomy, BMTs, tympanoplasty, and thyroid/parathyroid procedures. Cover gynecological operations such as D&C, hysteroscopy, hysterectomy, ablations, laparoscopy, and salpingectomy. Manage general surgeries including appendectomy, cholecystectomy, hernia repair, and bowel resections, as well as podiatry cases. Respond to on-call requirements 6-8 days per month, including one 2-day weekend, with a strict response time of 60 minutes. Qualifications and Desired Experience: Current NBSTSA certification in neuro anesthesia. Strong neuro anesthesia experience required. BLS certification mandatory. Ability to work full-time in 8-hr day shifts with start times at 6:30 AM or 8:30 AM. Experience with robotic-assisted surgery preferred. Excellent communication and critical thinking skills.
